What I created on Soul Art Day 2025

June 12, 2025

This year marked our 13th International Soul Art Day! On May 28, thousands of people gathered online from around the world to create art together for the day. I led the guided Soul Art journey from my Soul Art Studio in Canada. Normally, I would paint or collage for my creative process on the big day, but this year I wanted to work more sculpturally. Over the past year, I’d been collecting fallen sticks and painting them. Finally I amassed enough of them, with enough color variation, that I decided to make a floor sculpture using thousands of painted sticks in the vortex of this year’s event.

As always, Soul Art Day journeys start with a creative Soul Art® process called Bodymapping. Bodymapping is the foundation of the Soul Art Certification Level 1, where we use our body as an entry point for the creative journey. It involves tracing our body or an aspect of our body that feels significant for that journey. For my Soul Art Day piece, I chose to be in the fetal position for my bodymap. This was to represent the feeling of being in the womb of a new creation.

Being in the womb of my new creation is really about a deeper longing to meet the new me.

Since the pandemic, I have felt like I’ve been living in limbo. I’ve been in this transitional place where I’m growing out of who I was, but I’m not sure who I’m becoming yet. I wanted to go on a journey to hold myself in this transitional place and also see if I could get some clues about what’s next for me.

Once the bodymap was established, I dove into the creative process by intuitively placing sticks in energy patterns and currents. The sticks were already pre-painted, so it was easy to work with them like color strokes.

I get into a trance-like state when I’m creating. The creative process is a blissful place for me where I feel timeless, relaxed, invigorated, and deeply present all at once.

The painted sticks started to carve a current of energy that felt like the biblical story of the parting of the Red Sea. I’m not religious, so it seemed odd that a biblical reference would surface for me in my creative process. As I pondered the deeper meaning of the parting of the Red Sea, I felt it was offering me a message about getting into the current of faith, so “impossible” dreams and desires can be made possible through divine devotion.

The journey kept going deeper and deeper. I actually worked on this piece for a few days after Soul Art Day. During the high intensity energy of Soul Art Day, I carved the current for the parting of the Red Sea and I made a rainbow color base rippling out around it. You can see the fossilzed layers when you look at the piece from the side.

It feels symbolic that there is literally a rainbow underneath it all.

There is a sizzling sensation that comes over me when a piece is nearing completion. It’s like I’m buzzing with an elevated elation that feels purposeful, peaceful, and passionately alive!

I named this piece “The Parting of the Red Sea.” It lets me know there is a rainbow of radiance underneath the current. As the full spectrum frequencies gather, they build a momentum that makes miracles happen.  There are millions of moments that join together to make one monumental experience of alchemy, where who you were before is different from who you become.

I love looking at this piece up close to see the thousands of  pieces that came together to create one energetic expression. The colors, the movement, the energy, the patterns… this piece speaks to me in a sensory way. It invites me to enter the current of the unknown with trust, surrender, and devotion.

This piece is giving me an energetic map for moving from one chapter to the next… my new creation. I am becoming the new me. She is being revealed bit by bit as I enter the divine current with faith.

I could stare at this piece for hours. In the process of making it and pondering it now, so many new ideas, visions, plans, and dreams are opening up.

This piece started with me in the fetal position in the womb of my new creation. Through the process, it is showing me that I am birthing a new expression of myself and she is coming through a miraculous momentous energy that feels like the parting of the Red Sea!

A clear Spirit Action came through…. It’s time to get into your art like a deep devotion… that is how miracles happen.

I will be doing a Daily Devotion Creative Practice as we count down to the Soul Art Certification. Between now and June 25 (the official start date for the 2025 Soul Art Certification), I will be sharing my personal Daily Devotion Creative Practice in hopes that it sparks some special magic for you.
