One of my favorite childhood memories is making wishes. I would conjure up all kinds of fantastical scenarios, cast my wish into a seed from a milkweed pod, and release it in the wind.
I wished for unicorns, curly hair, and magical adventures over the rainbow.
It was only recently, when I created my latest stick art sculpture during my Shift Network course called Your Creativity Chrysalis, something shifted.
I realized, it’s not just that I have wishes… my soul has wishes for me too.
See what emerged from thousands of painted sticks…
When I began this art piece, I had no idea what it would become. I trust that about the creative process. I feel that a piece truly becomes art the moment I stop trying to make something happen and allow it to guide me instead.
As this piece took shape, it became clear that my life is my soul’s wish.
I saw myself being held in the milkweed seed pod. It felt as if my soul planted a wish in me and blew me into this life.
The chance to be here, to bring creativity, color, and magic into this world and grow spirit on Earth, is planted in me. That is something I came in with. But my soul had a wish for me to use those gifts to navigate through challenging things, to create new worlds and ways of being with those gifts.

Imagine your life is a wish your soul made before you were born. What would be coded in that wish?
We all have gifts and we all have challenges. I believe both are valuable ingredients to realizing the wishes our soul planted within us. When we let our life become a creative process where we trust and value its unfolding, we can harness our gifts and apply them to our challenges to grow new worlds and possibilities here on Earth.
