Being an artist calls forth a certain kind of athleticism.

It’s not the kind you measure in the miles you run or how much weight you lift. Instead, it grows when you exercise courageous acts of trust. It’s a spiritual muscle you build when you listen to your intuition and find the strength to act on your inspiration, even when it doesn’t make logical sense.

Recently, I had one of those kinds of workouts.

I was guided to do something that, on the surface, didn’t make any sense at all. And yet, for some reason I needed to do it.

It started with toilet paper rolls.

 

For over five years, while I was deep in my healing and cleansing journey, I collected them. Thousands of them. Last year, I transformed those rolls into a piece I called the Wild Waterfall Woman. It became a symbolic expression of the gushing flow that comes from deep tissue cleansing.

After I created it, I kept the toilet paper rolls in my storage room. Part of me thought I should recycle them and release them. But there was that little voice that said, “Not yet.”

Of course, I listened to that little voice and kept them. And, thank goodness I did!

Inspiration struck recently and a whole new creation was put in motion….

 

 

I started painting all the toilet paper rolls RED!

You know the saying “Runner’s High?” Well, there’s an equivalent… It’s called “Artist’s High.”

The Artist’s High arrives the moment you honor a spark of inspiration and step into the flow. You enter a vein of trust, and suddenly the current carries you.

With the Wild Waterfall Woman in the roots of this new creation, her gushing energy is guiding me to enter the vein of trust.

 

 

I’m getting a real workout with this creation. My artist muscles are popping like Popeye. 💪
